Purpose
To ensure that the Rogue River Institute (RRI) fulfills its mission and pursues its vision in an exemplary manner and in accordance with its beliefs and the highest standards of ethical conduct, the Board of Directors has adopted this Code of Conduct. This Code should be read with RRI’s mission in mind and with the understanding that they are an integral part of all the organization’s policies.
All participants of RRI meetings and events– including, but not limited to, board meetings, fundraisers, camping, and rafting excursions – are expected to abide by this Code of Conduct. Reporting Unacceptable BehaviorAnyone experiencing or witnessing behavior that constitutes an immediate or serious threat to public safety at any time should contact local law enforcement (by calling 911) and immediately notify RRI staff.
If you are not in immediate danger but feel that you are the subject of unacceptable behavior, have witnessed any such behavior, or have other concerns, please notify an RRI staff member (as soon as possible) who can work with appropriate RRI leadership to resolve the situation. All reports will be treated seriously and responded to promptly.
To report incidents virtually, you can email
info@rogueriverinstitute.org.
Once RRI is notified, two or more board members will discuss the details first with the individual filing the complaint, then any witnesses who have been identified, and then the alleged offender before determining an appropriate course of action. Confidentiality will be maintained to the extent that it does not compromise the rights of others.
Consequences
Anyone requested to stop unacceptable behavior is expected to comply immediately. If they do not comply with the request, they will be asked to leave the meeting or event and may not be invited back to future RRI meetings/events.
RRI staff (or their designee) may take any immediate action deemed necessary and appropriate, including contacting law enforcement or removal from the meeting or event without warning.
